Dustin T. Cain, P.S.
Mr. Cain began his surveying career in 2005 when he enrolled into the Civil, Surveying, & Mapping program at Louisiana Technical College. After graduating from the program, he began his in-field experience with C&C Technologies in the summer 2007. After work several years with the company and realizing his passion in surveying, Dustin left C&C to pursue his bachelors degree at Nicholls State University for Geomatics in order to be eligible to become a Professional Surveyor in the State of Louisiana. After graduation in the fall of 2012, he rejoined C&C to begin his mentor-ship and later became a Professional Surveying in Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Cain took on many projects at C&C during his time including but not limited to large GPS networking projects, COE/Coastal Use Permitting, Hazard surveys for the O&G industry, pipeline management among others. At the beginning of 2016, Southern Survey Services, LLC was born with the desire to one day be a competitive and diverse survey firm in the Lafayette area with outreaches to various states. Mr. Cain became an Alabama Professional Surveyor in 2019 to continue the outreach and growth of Southern Survey Services.
Paul E. Briley, P.L.S.
Prior to joining Southern Survey Services in 2017, Paul worked for John Chance Land Surveys, Inc., Morgan Goudeau & Associates, Inc., Simon J. Freyou & Associates, Inc. (Later becoming Freyou-Moore & Associates, Inc.), Paul N. Fontenot, Inc., T.L. James and Company and John E. Chance & Associates, Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors. He started working after T.H. Harris Voc. Tech. and worked his way from Instrumentman to Party Chief to Autocad Operator to Project Manager. He gained an enormous amount of land survey experience during those years and became very proficient in conventional equipment. He is capable of running a conventional survey crew for all aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry. In addition to the day to day activities associated with his project management duties, Paul is also very proficient with courthouse / legal research duties for land boundary surveys. He acquired his PLS license in 1997 from the Louisiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
James L. Richard,
Prior to joining Southern Survey Services in 2016, James worked for C & C Technologies and C. H. Fenstermaker and Associates of Lafayette, Louisiana. He started working for CHF after graduating from the Civil, Surveying, and Mapping program at Louisiana Technical College in 2003 and worked his way from Instrumentman to Party Chief to Autocad Operater in those years. He gained an enormous amount of land survey experience during those years and became very proficient in conventional and GPS surveys and equipment. James has been Party Chief on numerous pipeline surveys that included the Denbury Greenline Pipeline, Denbury Delhi Pipeline, Preliminary and As-Built pipeline surveys for Multiple Oil & Gas companies, Multiple Haynesville Shale well locations and pipeline staking projects. Since joining Southern Survey, James has continued to perform outstanding service for our existing commercial clients.
